Spend the money on the walk
The costly mistake near Omkareshwar is not a fan that rattles. It is a room that looked thrifty at noon and is a dark highway at 4:10 AM, with no auto and a sanctum that opened at 5:00. Pay a little more for the bank you can walk, or pay for the auto at the same time as the room. Do not pay a stranger for “budget VIP darshan”. The free queue is already the budget darshan. Shighra, if you add it, is ₹300 a person on the trust’s page, not a room discount.
What to check in a simple room
- A lock that works, and a bathroom you have seen.
- Who is awake before 4:30, if anyone.
- Whether Monday and Shravan were included in the price you were told.
- A written name that matches the building you will sleep in. Lane names repeat.
- Drinking water. The river is for worship. It is not the tap.
